Here at Environmental Art we believe educating people on sustainable craft practices is very important. We believe in teaching people traditional skills helps increase the understanding of how things are made, ways they can be made sustainably, the therapeutic benefits for participants and the overall positive impact traditional crafts have on the environment. Our workshop is fully accessible and we offer workshops to people of all ages and abilities.
About our workshops:
We offer a range of workshops including blacksmithing, knitting, crocheting and other traditional skills. You can try a two hour taster session to learn the basic forging skills, a half a day class will enable you to make something a bit more intricate and by the end of a full day session you will be able to walk away with a fabulous, hand-forged piece of work. if you have a voucher to book or would like more info please email Piers.
These workshops are run by our friendly resident blacksmith Piers who has a background in 3D Product Design and loves creating all things weird.
Our textiles workshops include traditional skills such as knitting and crocheting. These are 5 hour workshops with our textiles tutor Mo who comes from a Textiles Design background and loves all things colourful. If you have a gift voucher or need more info please get in touch.
Both our tutors have 5+ years experience teaching people of all ages and abilities and are happy to adapt their teaching style to suit you.
